The Elgin Experience Movie Meeting for May 12, 2009

The monthly movie meeting is on Tuesday May 12, 2009 – Marcus Theater 111 S. Randall Road Elgin, IL

Doors open at 9:30 am – Meeting begins at 10:00 am.

Our presentation will be by Dr. Matthew Ivanovich – Pulmonary Critical Care – on asthma and COPD.

The movies that will be shown at the movie meeting are:

1.  Star Trek – Rated PG-13. Run time 2 hrs 6 min.   Cast: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy.      Genre:  Action/Adventure, SciFi/Fantasy

2.  X-Men Origins: Wolverine – Rated PG-13. Run time 1 hr 47 min.   Cast: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, wil.i.am.     Genre: Action/Adventure, SciFi/Fantasy.

3.  Ghosts of Girlfriends Past – Rated PG-13. Cast: Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, Michael Douglas.    Genre: Comedy

4.  Special Presentation of a Classic (1951) Film  -  The African Queen  -  Not rated. Run time 1:45.  Cast: Humphrey Bogart, Katherine Hepburn.  Genre: Adventure, Romance, Drama.

We will also be collecting donation items of canned goods and paper products for The Westside Church of Christ. 

Membership is NOT required to attend, so please bring a friend along and enjoy a cup of coffee, donut and the chance to be one of our several door prize winners.  The cost is $2.00 per person.

The Elgin Experience Movie Meeting for April 14, 2009

The monthly movie meeting is on Tuesday April 14, 2009 – Marcus Theater 111 S. Randall Road Elgin, IL

Doors open at 9:30 am – Meeting begins at 10:00 am.

You will be enjoying a selection of pipe organ, grand piano and electronic organ      melodies prior to the beginning of our program in anticipation of our next trip “Keyboard Pops Concert” at the Rialto Square Theatre on Saturday April 25, 2009. We only have 3 seats left, so please sign up at our reservation table after the movie and secure your slot!!  The evening includes dinner at White Fence Farm where we will be enjoying “The World’s Greatest Chicken”.  Don’t miss this one!! We look forward to you traveling with us!

Our presentation will be by Garrett Rawson and Steve Frazier – the Marcus Fox Theatre managers.  They will take us behind the scenes and show us “How Projection Works”.

4.  Special Presentation of a Classic (1950) Film – Harvey – Not Rated. Run time 1:45 .  Cast: James Stewart – Genre: Comedy

We will also be collecting donation items of canned goods and paper products for The Lighthouse Food Pantry.

The Elgin Experience Movie Meeting for March 10, 2009

The monthly movie meeting is on Tuesday March 10, 2009 – Marcus Theater 111 S. Randall Road Elgin, IL

Doors open at 9:30 am – Meeting begins at 10:00 am.

In anticipation of a long awaited spring, we have arranged to have a very special presentation of a seasonal classic film for you this month. We will be showing Irving Berlin’s 1948 classic EASTER PARADE  with Fred Astaire and Judy Garland.  We hope you will enjoy this classic hailed as the happiest musical ever made.  Runtime is 1 hr 47 min.

If the classic isn’t for you we also have:

• Confessions of a Shopaholic – Rated PG. 1 hr 52 min.

           Cast: Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy, Krysten Ritter – Genre: Drama

• The Reader – Rated R. 2 hr 2 min.
