FDIC Warns of Fraudulent E-mail
On July 2, 2010 in a Consumer Alert, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) advised the public that it has received numerous reports of a fraudulent e-mail which has the appearance of being sent from the FDIC. The subject line of the e-mail states: “you need to check your Bank Deposit Insurance Coverage.” The message states, “You have received this message because you are a holder of a FDIC-insured bank account. Recently FDIC has officially named the bank you have opened your account with as a failed bank, thus, taking control of its assets.” The e-mail then directs recipients to click this link, “You need to visit the official FDIC website and perform the following steps to check your Deposit Insurance Coverage.”
This e-mail and the associated web site are fraudulent. The link directions should not be followed. The link may be an attempt to collect personal or confidential information, or to load malicious software onto the computer of the recipient.

Smokey and the Bandit (Our Classic)
- Release Date: May 27, 1977
- Rated: PG
- Runtime: 1 hr. 37 min.
- Genres: Comedy
- Cast: Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jerry Reed, Jackie Gleason, Mike Henry
Synopsis
“Smokey,” aka Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason), is the prospective father-in-law of unwilling bride Carrie (Sally Field). The Bandit (Burt Reynolds), a maverick racecar driver, makes an 80,000-dollar bet that he can transport a shipment of Coors beer from Texarkana, TX, to Atlanta within 28 hours. It’s important to note that in 1977, it was illegal to sell the Coors brand east of the Mississippi River without a permit; if we don’t note that, then the plot won’t make sense at times. Already in danger of arrest from redneck lawmen like Buford T. Justice, Bandit furthers his chances at a stiff jail term when he offers a ride to Carrie, who hopes to escape her unwanted wedding to Justice’s boy. The rest of the film is one long chase; not quite as subtle as a Road Runner/Coyote cartoon, not quite as restrained as a Three Stooges comedy. Universally panned by critics upon its first release, Smokey and the Bandit reportedly pulled in just under $126 million and led to two sequels.

Killers
Rated: PG-13
Runtime: 1:40
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Tom Selleck, Catherine O’Hara, Rob Riggle
Three years after settling down with the woman of his dreams, a former government assassin discovers there’s a price tag on his head, and that his number could be up at any minute. Spencer Aimes (Ashton Kucher) was the man the government called on when they needed someone taken out on the sly. Fast, clean, and efficient, he always got the job done, and enjoyed the many perks that came with traveling the globe in search of his targets. But somewhere amidst all of the fast cars and exotic women, Spencer fell in love with Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl), a carefree computer expert on the mend from a relationship gone sour. Flash forward three years, when Spencer and Jen are happily married and living the domestic dream. On the heels of Spencer’s 30th birthday, he and his happy wife discover that their life of bliss could come to a violent end at any second — someone has put a multi-million-dollar contract on Spencer’s life, and the hired killers who have been tracking him could be anyone from the checkout girl to the neighborhood curmudgeon. Time is running out for Spencer, and as the race to uncover his assassin intensifies, so too does his paranoia. With his in-laws making life miserable and the threat of death lurking around every corner, Spencer struggles to maintain appearances while staying out of the crosshairs, and keeping Jen safe from harm. Catherine O’Hara, Tom Selleck, and Martin Mull co-star in an action-packed comedy thriller from director Rob Luketic (Legally Blonde, The Ugly Truth).
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Rated: PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action
Runtime: 1:55
Genre: Action/Adventure, Fantasy/Romance
Cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Steve Toussaint
Set in the mystical lands of Persia, a rogue prince reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious princess and together, they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time - a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
A domesticated Shrek hatches a plan to recapture his mojo and discovers what life in Far Far Away land would have been like had he never existed in this final chapter of the popular animated film series. There used to be a time when the villagers would run in terror at the mere mention of the name Shrek, but these days the big green ogre is married to Princess Fiona and raising triplets. Maintaining your fierce public persona is no simple task when you’re juggling infants and changing diapers, so when Shrek realizes that nobody is afraid of him anymore he recruits mischief-maker Rumpelstiltskin to restore his once-mighty roar. Unfortunately for Shrek, that plan hits an unexpected hitch. As a result, the morose monster takes a trip into an alternate-universe Far Far Away land where there is no Shrek, and Rumpelstiltskin reigns. There, Donkey spends his days hauling carts, and a portly Puss in Boots prefers lounging to swashbuckling. Perhaps with a little extra effort, Shrek will be able to regain his status as top ogre in town and still have his happily ever after, too.
Marmaduke
Rated: PG for some rude humor and language
Runtime: 1:27
